Whidbey Island Fiber Quest... with a Twist We have participated in the Whidbey Island Fiber Quest since it's inception. A twice yearly event that started as simply as Fiber Quest, a 'Twist' was added last Fall that makes it even more fun! The 'Twist' is the addition of some fun, non-fiber businesses on the Island. Join the Fiber Quest for your chance to win a fiber-filled gift basket! Together with several Whidbey Island Fiber Farms, Yarn Shops, and other local businesses, we will be participating in this fun event. It's a great opportunity to shop for that special yarn, fiber, or roving, and a fun chance to see the fiber animals that produce it! Visit all the shops and have a chance at winning a fabulous fiber-filled gift basket and other prizes. We'll be open additional hours for the event and will be offering some surprises over the course of the weekend. Stop by any time Friday, Saturday or Sunday, May 3 - 5, between 10 am and 5:00 pm. June 2013 Shearing day at Pronkin' Pastures Shearing day is a 'working day' but is also a great opportunity to see the animals close up and learn more about them. Whidbey Island Fabulous Fall Fiber Sale (WIFFFS) This is an annual event held at Paradise Found Fiber Farm in Clinton (south end of Whidbey Island). Fiber producers from Whidbey Island and beyond participate offering a variety of fibers, roving, yarn and fiber related goods. September 2013

Fiber Fusion Northwest This is a 2-day fiber event held at the Evergreen State Fairgrounds in Monroe, WA. If you are interested in alpaca or any other type of natural fiber, you will want to add this event to your calendar! There will be all types of fiber-related vendors, classes, demonstrations and educational exhibits, a fiber arts contest, fleece shows, a spin-in and much more. This is a big event for us, so we will have the Farm & Store closed for the weekend, but we will be selling our wares in a vendor booth at Fiber Fusion, so if you attend, please look us up! As Vendor Chairperson for this event, I am active on the planning committee. Additionally, Pronkin' Pastures is proud to be a Founding Sponsor of this event. St. Distaffs Day Spin In This annual event is hosted by Northwest Regional Spinners Association - Area 2010 Fiberholics - and held at Cavelero Mid High School in Lake Stevens, WA. It is a fun and well attended event where guests are invited to spin, relax and shop with friends at vendor displays. We'll be selling our yarn and roving from a vendor booth. Click here for a map to the school. Through December 31, 2013 Photo Submission Contest This is an opportunity for you.... and a chance to win a $20 Pronkin' Pastures gift certificate! Have you taken photos during your visit to Pronkin' Pastures? If so, would you be willing to share them? We are looking for photos of alpacas with farm visitors to add to our website. Check our blog page dated 11/13/12 for all the details on emailing your photo(s) to us for a chance to win a $20 gift certificate. Do it soon, this contest ends on December 31st! The cider is hot, the alpacas are ready to greet you, and we are offering specials in the store! In addition to special prices and free gift wrapping, we are a qualified ‘Shop Small’ business! Loganberry Festival The Loganberry Festival should be better than ever this year - particularly if you are interested in Fiber and Fiber Arts. This year, I won't have a vendor booth, but will be participating in the 'Fiber in the Barn' exhibit. This new exhibit features Hands On demonstrations of everything from the fleece through to the handcrafted product. You can find me at the fiber skirting station! While the focus is on education in the Fiber in the Barn exhibit, I will also be selling handspun alpaca yarn while I am there. This year's theme is 'Back to the Farm', and the alpaca featured on the promotional flyer and poster, designed by local artist Stacey Neumiller, is none other than our own Baloo! Take a look! Whidbey Island Spin-In This is the third year in a row that I will be participating in the Whidbey Island Spin-In. Held at Oak Harbor High School and presented by the Whidbey Weavers Guild, this is a wonderful event for the spinning enthusiast! Each year the program and speaker is different, so if you are a fiber artist and are on the island that weekend, this is an event you won't want to miss! I will have a vendor booth set up selling alpaca yarn and rovings. Stop by and say 'hi'! * Unfortunately, due to a family emergency, we were unable to participate in this event. We're sorry if we missed you there. We hope to be invited back as a vendor next year. November 25 - 28, 2011 Holiday Open House Take a break from the traditional frenzy of after-Thanksgiving activities and enjoy the relaxing atmosphere at Pronkin' Pastures! We'll be open over Thanksgiving weekend and invite you to stop by. Relax and enjoy a cup of hot cider and a holiday treat while you visit the alpacas, take a farm tour, or watch a spinning or weaving demo! I'll be sharing a booth with friend and fellow spinner, Dina of Island Bliss Alpacas. Come see us spin and take a look at our lovely alpaca yarns! June 2011 Shearing day at Pronkin' Pastures Always a lot of work, but we try to make it fun! April 2 - 3, 2011 Whidbey Island Spin-In For the second year, I will be at the Whidbey Island Spin-In. Our friends, Sue and Annie of Frosen Acres Alpacas have offered to transport and show him for us. I'll let you know how he does! February - April 2011 Enter to WIN a pair of alpaca socks! We ran this promotion in December and January in an effort to build up our mailing list. It was successful enough that we decided to do it again! The Sock Brigade, a promotion that started within the alpaca community working in conjunction with the non-profit organization, BentStar Project, has been sending alpaca socks to our soldiers overseas since 2007. Nearly 9,000 pairs have been sent so far. The goal is three pairs of alpaca socks for every soldier because “warm feet are NOT a luxury”. Join us as we participate in this effort. For every pair of ‘Trailblazer’ boot socks purchased (at regular price) between December 13, 2010 – December 31, 2010, we will donate a pair of boot socks to the non-profit organization, BentStar Project, that then sends them to the troops. You’ll love these warm, comfortable socks and so will the military troops that receive them!
